Excited to mess around with Padrino, a web app framework built on top of Sinatra, and which comes with a built-in admin interface (“akin to Django”, the docs say). There have been a number of Sinatra bundles and plugins to make getting going with Sinatra faster, for doing the repetitive things like building CRUD apps. I have been doing mostly WordPress development lately. Before I got busy with that, I was planning to build a quick Django app. Now I am trying to get the ruby portion of my portfolio site online, and am going back into the Sinatra app that I used for my ruby demos, currently at http://demos.zhannes.com. Taking Padrino for a spin, following this screencast: http://vimeo.com/10522357. Depending on what Padrino offers, maybe I will end up migrating my ruby portfolio from plain Sinatra to Padrino.
