So this was a post I began on 12/29/2007. As I clicked “edit” today, I saw I had not written anything except a title. It was likely one of those moments when I had on my mind several items to blog about so I created a post with a title for each. I planed to fill them in later.
Since last week, I’ve been meaning to blog about the seeming fulfillment of one of my major resolutions – getting out of my current job as a paralegal and into a career path with more potential – Internet technology.
I’m elated to be able to say, I’VE LANDED A JOB AS A WEB PRODUCER. This new job brings many positive things:
-Commute is cut in half
-Salary increased by 25%
-Best of all, an opportunity to get my feet wet with technology and see if this is for me.
I believe I will be happier in the new environment, knowing that each day I’m learning new things which will help me as I continue to ponder career choices.
As soon as I went in for the first interview and was overcome with excitement about a potential opportunity to learn new skills and work toward something, I realized that this was a HUGE step in a good direction. Regardless of whether I continue with IT and decide to undergo further education in the field, trying something new is certainly what I needed.
Big thanks to LD et al. for gathering around and supporting this positive development, even in its nascent stages. I began to perceive that my sense of frustration and stagnation were becoming ever more palpable by the day, both to those who spend the most time around me as well as my coworkers. And because of this, friends and myself jumped at the potential for me to do something different.
I’m sure my moods have been less than stable and pleasant (Are anyone’s really?), so I thank those of you who have tolerated my misanthropy and general disdain for many things. Now only a few more things to work on and I’ll be perfect!
