Now time for bed. But before I go, must say I’m addicted to enso launcher. I type a few keys and I’m opening things without minimizing windows etc. Also watched a demo for ubiquity… downloaded prototype a second time to test it… first time crashed my firefox.

But before bed a few updates. After much consternation, finally installed ruby on rails using the one click installer. Had gotten as far as creating a project using other set ups but was attracted to one click which similar to wamp installs mysql and apache along with ruby and rails.

Remaining rails set up items to figure out include:

Why learn rails? I’m at a point where I’m using html and css regularly at work, so I feel pretty good about that. In fact I noticed that at least on my browser the space btw the paragraphs of the blogspot template i’m using is huge. Set my own padding for 5px to override the template, and hopefully it looks acceptable in your browser too. Not sure why blogspot adds so much padding. The space only appears when I actually use the a html paragraph tag… as opposed to writing in the normal “compose” mode which inserts break tags by default apparently.

I’ll still be reading my books on css and javascript and building pages and projects… While also messing around with a rails book I found around. It just fell off a truck. Best explaination I can offer at this pt… Not that hopeful that learning rails will be easy or fruitful anytime soon, but having the book is a start. Even attempting the exercises gives me something interesting and productive to do with my time, which is tough to come by :)
